My Story

I offer support to individuals and couples struggling with relationships, anxiety, trauma, and/or life transitions. I'm the kind of therapist that listens well and also shares observations and feedback to help you create real change in your life. Sometimes that means change in your external environment, and sometimes it means change in your internal thoughts and feelings. Either way, it is important to me that therapy benefits you and helps you grow.

My first career was in Education. I earned a Masters in Education from the University of Southern California and became an Educator for the Deaf. I started at a nonprofit learning center and theater program for children with hearing loss. Eventually I worked my way into roles as a Public School Teacher, Private Educational Specialist, & Nonprofit Director.

In 2012, I decided to go back to school to study Psychology at Pepperdine, where I began my journey to become a therapist. As a Certified EMDR Therapist and expert in addiction,​ I have held Clinical Director and Therapist positions at various rehabs across Southern CA and researched psychological trauma and neuroscience with teams at Cedars-Sinai.

In therapy, I use various approaches including DBT, CBT, IFS, EMDR, Brainspotting, Gottman Method, and other modalities. In 2021, I founded a practice called King Family Therapy, where I work with associate therapists as a CAMFT Certified Supervisor. 

As for my own therapy - it started in a dance studio. I started classes at age 3, danced in college and professional arenas, and taught to children and teens. With a continued passion for dance and music, I still love going to concerts around LA and exploring new music.
