EMDR and Brainspotting are brain-based therapies that target maladaptive networks in the brain and rewires them to develop healthier responses to life stressors. They have been scientifically proven to treat trauma and other psychological issues.
EMDR involves "bilateral stimulation," while Brainspotting involves focusing on "brainspots" to release deep emotional and somatic experiences stored in the brain. Without the need for extensive talk therapy, your brain heals itself. Studies show these therapies can “yield the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference.”

Relationships can be difficult to navigate. Family, friends, romantic partners, roommates, coworkers... you name it. You may be experiencing difficulties with a family member. Or maybe you and your partner feel stuck, repeating unhealthy patterns or dealing with trust issues or infidelity.
Whatever your frustration, therapy can give you perspective and relationship tools. I am here to help you take positive action in your relationships. This can involve practicing communication skills and learning how to increase positive interactions with others. We work on building the skills you need to thrive in your relationships.
Sometimes you might find it hard to communicate with your partner, perhaps engaging in ongoing hurtful patterns or having the same argument on repeat. Maybe you're unsure about the future of the relationship, or maybe you just want to feel more in love.
Individuals change as life moves forward, and some partners change together and some move in different directions. Coming to therapy can help you not only understand your partner, but also understand yourself. This can help you learn how to improve communication, increase healthy behaviors, and feel satisfied in your relationship.
Are you starting a new job? Settling into a new home? Starting or ending a relationship? Or dealing with the loss of a loved one? Life is always changing, sometimes in small ways and sometimes in bigger ones. I can help if you are struggling while going through a transition.
In therapy, we work together to sort out the difficulties you might be experiencing so we can make your transition manageable and maybe even enjoyable. I can help you work towards creating the life you want by encouraging new perspectives and helping you make positive choices that will lead you to happiness and contentment.
No matter your gender, race, or economic status, addiction doesn’t discriminate. Addiction touches the lives of all of us in some way, and the journey to recovery can be frustrating and confusing. This is not only true for an addict, but also for loved ones who are going through their own process.
My approach to addiction recovery is a strengths-based approach. We not only examine the effects of your past, but we also focus on how to build your support system and utilize your strengths to create the life you want to be living. The most important thing to remember is that you have support and you are not alone.
